National Soyfoods Month celebrates soy-based foods and beverages throughout April. The observance encourages people to discover tasty ways to use soyfoods in family meals and snacks, including tofu, edamame, soymilk, and other soy ingredients, according to the Soyfoods Association of North America.
Soyfoods can be used in beverages, appetizers, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. The Soyfoods Association of North America says it established Soyfoods Month in 1997 to promote soyfoods with media and food retailers, and relaunched the observance in 2009. April is a chance to experiment with soy’s range of flavors and textures, from smooth silken tofu to crunchy soy nuts, as described by the Soyfoods Council.
How to Observe National Soyfoods Month
Celebrate by trying a soyfood you have not had before, such as tofu, edamame, or soymilk. Experiment with soy ingredients in a beverage, appetizer, entrée, side dish, or dessert. You can also prepare an edamame dip using this recipe and serve it with vegetables or pita chips.
