March Frozen Food Month, also called National Frozen Food Month, spotlights the value, versatility, and innovation of frozen foods. The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) describes it as its flagship national promotion, supported by digital content, partner campaigns, a sweepstakes, and coordinated industry participation. It is a chance to take a fresh look at the freezer aisle, where frozen foods can provide convenient options for meals, snacks, and small portions.
According to Easy Home Meals, March was once the slowest month for frozen-food sales. Murray Lender, founder of Lender’s Bagels, led an effort to make March National Frozen Food Month, and Lender and the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association—then known as the National Frozen Foods Association—launched the first March promotion in 1984. The observance has since included recipe ideas, product discoveries, sweepstakes, and other promotional activities. Older promotions and offers may not be available today, so check current details before participating.
