National Breakfast Month is observed throughout September and celebrates the day’s first meal. It’s an invitation to give breakfast a little more attention, whether that means preparing something at home, trying a new dish, or enjoying breakfast foods at dinnertime.
Breakfast can be as simple as eggs and toast, or it can include pancakes, waffles, French toast, croissants, muffins, vegetables, and other favorites. In a 2015 back-to-school newsletter, the Home Baking Association shared breakfast recipes and baking resources, including pumpkin pancakes, sweet biscuits, and apricot streusel muffins. The Culinary Exchange also suggested celebrating with “breakfast for dinner,” offering ideas built around eggs, sautéed greens, bacon, and other breakfast staples.
How to Observe National Breakfast Month
Celebrate by making a favorite breakfast, trying a new breakfast recipe, or preparing breakfast foods for dinner. You could also bake something to share, experiment with pancakes or waffles, or explore the recipes and baking resources in the Home Baking Association’s National Breakfast Month materials.
