National Craft Distillery Day celebrates the growing movement of small craft distilleries and the handcrafted spirits they produce. Craft distillers make a range of spirits, including gin, whiskey, bourbon, rum, and vodka, often using locally sourced ingredients and emphasizing the character of the finished product.
Distiller Nicholas Strauser, Connie Strauser, and Brandy Strauser-Sobanski of N Scott Distillery founded the holiday on May 22, 2019. The date also recalls May 22, 2017, when the first drop of handcrafted spirits flowed from N Scott Distillery’s artisan still. The celebration included the introduction of the distillery’s signature recipe, Gentleman’s 1864, which begins with a unique bourbon mash. According to the holiday’s proclamation, the Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed National Craft Distillery Day an annual observance beginning in 2019.
How to Observe National Craft Distillery Day

You can also purchase a bottle from a nearby distiller, share your appreciation for small-batch spirits with friends, or post about the day using #NationalCraftDistilleryDay. Please enjoy alcohol responsibly.
