Some people who nudes can be sent to include "your boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend, side hoe, or even someone you have a thing with." Sending nudes is a form of sexting. It can be used to positively enhance romantic relationships between couples. A 2011 study found that over half of couples had exchanged nude photos or videos at least once, with ⅓ of couples doing it occasionally. Sending nudes is also done by those not in relationships, who are looking for a little fun. If both parties have not consented to the sending of the nudes, it may be considered to be sexual harassment. Teens in an experimental sexual phase or not yet sexually active may send nudes, but this may be considered illegal if one or both people involved are under the age of consent.

Celebrate the day by sending nudes to your partner, to someone you "have a thing with," or to a friend. The most important things that you must consider before doing so are to make sure you are sending your nudes to someone who is at least the age of consent and that the nudes are not unsolicited, making sure the receiver would like to participate in the day. When sending nudes to a willing recipient, you could ask them if they would like to send nudes back to you.

There are a few other things to consider before sending your nudes. Make sure you have a fitting background that is clean, uncluttered, and sexy. Try different poses—laugh, smile, and accentuate the best qualities of your body. You don't need to be fully nude to celebrate. Do what feels comfortable. Perhaps a little teasing and concealment is more your style!
