Father-in-Law Day

For some, a father-in-law may be close, just like a father. For others, a father-in-law may be intimidating or aggravating. Regardless of what one's relationship is with their father-in-law, today is about honoring them. It is a day to give them gifts and have get-togethers in their honor. It is a day to thank them for the role they have played in a spouse's life, and to show them an appreciation for all they do.

Father-in-Law Day, also known as National Father-in-Law Day, is observed next on Thursday, July 30th, 2020. It has always been observed annually on July 30th.

How to Observe

If you have a father-in-law, celebrate the day by spending time with them, giving them a card, or taking them out for a meal. Let them know how much you appreciate them and the impact they have had on your spouse's life. If your father-in-law has already passed away, you could use the day to honor them. If you are someone's father-in-law, make sure to let your son-in-law or daughter-in-law know about the holiday.
