National Cream-Filled Chocolates Day

Coinciding with Valentine's Day, National Cream-Filled Chocolates Day celebrates all flavors of cream-filled chocolates, of which there are many. Raspberry, strawberry, coffee, mint, chocolate, coconut, orange, lemon, vanilla, cherry, rum, and caramel, are some of the most common cream-filled chocolate flavors. These chocolates have creamy centers, but the centers are usually not made with real cream. The flavor of the cream often comes from extracts, flavorings, liqueurs, fruit juice, or powdered ingredients. Local confectioners make cream-filled chocolates and sell them in shops, but the chocolates might most often be found as part of boxed chocolate.
