When someone is dumbstruck, they are so shocked and surprised that they can't speak. People may be dumbstruck after hearing amazingly good or amazingly bad news. They may be dumbstruck after winning the lottery, or after an unforeseen tragedy. Today can be interpreted a few ways. It may be a day to embrace the feeling of being dumbstruck if it arises. Sometimes people are embarrassed by feeling dumbstruck, but today they don't have to be! This also is a day when people may act like they are dumbstruck, or try to make others feel dumbstruck.
Dumbstruck Day is observed next on Sunday, March 15th, 2020. It has always been observed annually on March 15th.
How to Observe
Celebrate the day by acting dumbstruck by every little thing that comes along. Did you drop a piece of food on the floor in the work cafeteria? Act dumbstruck. Did your friend pay you a visit? Act dumbstruck that they came. Did the sun come out today? Act dumbstruck by how amazing that is! You can also celebrate the day by trying to get others become dumbstruck. Tell people the craziest stories you can think of, as if they were completely true. Chances are you'll be able to leave someone speechless. If something happens today that leaves you dumbstruck, don't try to fight the feeling. Embrace it, it's Dumbstruck Day!
