Turkey Lovers' Month

Turkey Lovers’ Month is observed throughout June as a celebration of people who enjoy turkey in its many forms. Sandwiches, turkey legs, ground turkey in tacos or chili, and even a whole turkey baked in June all fit the spirit of the month.

The National Turkey Federation is credited with creating the observance, which has been held in June since 1990. Its purpose is to celebrate turkey lovers and encourage turkey sales during a period when they are generally lower. The exact date of its creation is unclear.

How to Observe Turkey Lovers' Month

Celebrate by enjoying turkey in a favorite form, such as a sandwich, turkey leg, tacos, chili, or a baked turkey. Try preparing turkey in a new way, or share your appreciation for this versatile food with fellow turkey lovers.
