National Latte Day

National Latte Day celebrates the latte, a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk. The name is a shortened form of the Italian caffè latte, meaning “milk coffee.” February 11 is a chance to enjoy a hot or iced latte and appreciate the care and creativity that can go into each cup.

The observance was created by Jeffersons Coffee in 2019 and is held annually on February 11. Latte art is another part of the celebration, highlighting the designs that can be made with steamed milk. Calendar Holidays’ overview of National Latte Day also notes the drink’s connection to coffee culture and its popularity in the United States during the specialty coffee movement of the 1980s.
