National Pet Parent's Day

From food and shelter to toys and treats, pet owners—or parents—provide so much for their animal companions. The Veterinary Pet Insurance Company, a part of Nationwide Insurance, was inspired to create National Pet Parent's Day because an overwhelming majority of their policyholders considered their pets to be a part of their family. Appropriately, the day precedes the holiday season that honors other family members like mothers and fathers, and it "recognizes and honors those who lovingly consider their pets a part of their family."

How to Observe National Pet Parent's Day

Celebrate the day with your pet! Take them to their favorite place, play with them, and give them treats. If you don't have a pet, today is an excellent day to look into becoming a pet parent!
